Aim

To examine the NICE quality standard recommendations to improve the recognition, assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders for adults in primary care and to apply the knowledge you’ve gained to practice. This e-learning tool will take you about an hour to complete.

Overview

The NICE Anxiety disorders quality standard 53 was published in February 2014. The quality standard draws on existing guidance and covers the identification and management of generalised anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and body dysmorphic disorder. Anxiety disorders vary in their severity but are associated with significant long-term disability and can have a lifelong course of relapse and remission.

This e-learning tool has learning activities to help you implement the quality standard and improve patient outcomes by focusing on the key implementation challenges identified. It is divided into three sections: recognition of anxiety disorders, assessment of anxiety disorders and interventions and treatment.
